Happy Birthday America!

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people,
by the people, for the people, whose just power is derived from the consent of the governed.
A democracy in a republic, a sovereign nation of many sovereign states,
a perfect union—one, and inseparable—established upon those principles of
freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

The American's Creed

My 4th of July celebration started Friday night, with a church potluck. Most of the kids were decked out in red, white, and blue, which for Esse applied to her hair, as well.

At the end of the evening, as we were packing up, the girls heard the song We Fall Down and wanted to sing along with it on the microphones. After that song went off I put on a few songs that we sing on Wednesday nights during the children's program, and they sang to those, as well. They had a blast and were incredibly cute doing it!

After an 8 1/2 hour drive, I ended up at my aunt's house in Tappahannock, Virginia on July 3rd to spend the holiday with extended family. I hadn't seen some family members in a few years. We had a cookout and swam and rode the jet ski.
