So, This is Blogging…

A few months ago my friend Heather, who will probably be my sole reader for awhile, sent me a telepathic message that had to be translated into a Facebook post before I received it, saying I should start blogging. I had thought about doing exactly that for a while, but as is usual with me, I'll think about something and decide to do it long before I actually get around to carrying through with it.

If my history with Facebook and Twitter holds in the blogging world, I'll probably write far more posts in my mind than actually make it to the screen, but I'll give it a shot. Most of my posts will probably center around either Mosby or my most recent attempt at baking bread, so it may seem like I never update this thing at all. I may shake things up every now and then and rant about the Braves (who are currently losing badly), but that would probably cause me to lose all readership I may gain with the cute cat pictures, so I'll try to keep those to a minimum.

A big thanks to my roomy and Proverbs 31 pal Sam who helped me name my blog. That was my biggest obstacle in starting this thing. I have a serious dislike of naming things, and usually wait until after I have the paper or story finished before I title it. Having to come up with a title to a blog before being able start it really threw me off. It's named, though, and now I can post whenever I like, which is one less stressor in my life. Now that I'm at this stage, I'll have to customize it and give it my personal touch. I'm excited to see just how much time I can waste on this thing in the next week! :-)

  1. Sole reader? Bah! You should know better than that. You will have at least TWO devoted readers. :-) I'm very excited you have a blog now! Be sure to subscribe to mine. I rarely post more than once a I won't be cluttering up your reading list. :-)

    Happy blogging!

  2. And I just have to say, I love your little bio! "I would choose both every time." Haha! Oh, yes. :-)

  3. This comment has been removed by the author.

  4. Oh. My. Goodness. You have NO idea how excited I was to see this link!!!! YAY!!! Corey and I high-fived about it. :-) Corey says you should blog about everything you cook because he really misses everyone experimenting with recipes (I'm not entirely sure what that says about MY cooking, hmmmm.... Ha ha!).
I can't wait to see what you do with personalizing it -- and I can't wait to read more posts! My poor blog has been abandoned for a little while though I have been meaning to post something new for a while now...I've been taking a bit of a sabbatical, ha ha. And, like you, I write more posts in my head than actually make it to being typed out. :-)
ANYHOW, this post isn't supposed to be about ME, it's about you. :-)
You should blog about what new and fun things you learn about photography as you experiment and play around with your DSLR and HDR *hint hint*. ;-) If you have time, that is -- I know you are a busy woman. :-)
Corey wants me to ask when we should pick you up at the Honolulu Airport. In case you can't tell: WE MISS YOU!!
Thanks for starting a blog (and I'm honored that you mentioned me in your first post!!)! You totally made my night! :-)

P.S. Sorry about deleting my original comment! I noticed something I wanted to edit and didn't realize it would leave a blank comment.... Me and my O.C.D. tendency about having to correct grammar mistakes I notice after the fact.... *sigh*

  5. Wow, Stacey, you found me fast. I guess I will have two readers :-) I expected I would gain a few more than one reader after awhile, I just wasn't sure how long that would take. I will certainly follow your blog…as soon as I can figure out how to do that!

Heather, I'm hoping this will make me do more with my photography again, so I can blog about it. I do want to understand/be able to really use HDR effectively, so I'll pass along what I figure out. I'll definitely post about cooking/baking things, because that's about all I do with my life :-) I took the whole recipe experimenting thing to a new level yesterday when I combined two banana muffin recipes and sort of followed both. It was rather risky since I had never really made muffins from scratch before, but they turned out really good so no harm done! There will probably be many baking posts in my future, since I'm really getting into milling my own flour and baking with it. I'm learning so much! You guys better pick me up at the airport as soon as I land…which sadly won't be for a very long time. As soon as I know a time, though, you will know! :-)

  6. You better believe you will have THREE devoted fans...I'm so glad to be able to hear some of what you are up to! Yay!
